O-scape: free orienteering mapping software

We've just learnt about the development of new software that allows the drawing of orienteering maps for free, good news I'm sure you'll agree. So we got in touch with the developer of the O-scape extensions, for use with the open source vector drawing software Inkscape, to find out more about the project.

WUOC: Relay - Sweden and Switzerland victorious

The World University Orienteering Championships ended with victories for Sweden in the men's race and Switzerland in the women's race, as Great Britain's week ended in disappointment with the men 8th and women 11th.

WUOC: Middle - GG takes Bronze

Graham Gristwood recovered from a troublesome start to take a Bronze medal from today's World University Orienteering Championships middle race, as Matthias Merz once again took Gold ahead of Patrik Karlsson of Sweden. Radka Brozkova of the Czech Republic won the women's race over 90 seconds clear of Sofia Haajanen of Finland and Ines Brodmann of Switzerland.

WUOC: Sprint - Silver for Scott Fraser

The World University Orienteering Championships today provided an exciting sprint race around the town of Borlänge in Sweden, with home favourite Jerker Lysell winning by just nine seconds from Great Britain's Scott Fraser. France's Anelie Chataing won the women's sprint by a similarly slim margin of just seven seconds from Switzerland's Caroline Cejka.

WUOC: Long Distance

It was a Swiss double header today in the World University Orienteering Championships, as Sara Lüscher and Matthias Merz won the Long Distance, with Merz winning convincingly by over four and a half minutes.
