The Nancy Ovens bursary offers up to �2500 for volunteer coaches to enchance or develop their skills.

The bursary, sponsored by SkillsActive and awarded by the Nancy Ovens Trust, will be aimed at paid or voluntary coaches and leaders in the active leisure and learning sector. The bursary will be awarded to a coach or leader to allow them to enhance their own skills and knowledge by taking part in studies, work experience or activities outside of their community.

The bursary, awarded annually, will be worth up to �2,500 and may be used by the selected individual(s) to undertake an alternative work experience or training within the UK or EU. The Nancy Ovens Trust and SkillsActive will appoint a mentor for the period of the bursary.

The bursary offers applicants the opportunity to tailor their own experience in a way that will be most beneficial to their career/voluntary activity. The bursary is looking for applicants displaying intuitive ideas that demonstrate their motivation and drive, and are flexible in terms of proposed experiences. This could be that chance to see how coaching is operated in a different culture or community, or to take that learning break from your day job!
