Photojournalist focusses on JK

Award winning photojournalist Mike Pinches will be at this year's JK to shoot portraits of competitors in a specially constructed outdoor studio on Ilkey Moor.

His team will be inviting the muddiest and most exhausted athletes to be photographed for a project on this year's JK. The photographer is hoping to show "the blood, sweat and tears of athletes who've just slogged their guts out on the moor, and to show orienteering as being a bit more serious than a ramble through the woods."

The project is intended for publication in a national sports magazine as well as a future website and exhibition.
