boc :: Stevenson & Monro win

Jamie Stevenson and Heather Monro took the British Individual titles in Midhurst at the weekend.

Despite claiming she wasn't training so much and just doing it for fun, Heather managed to win by over 3 minutes from SYO's Jenny Whitehead. ShUOC's Rachel Elder took 3rd place and settled the top 3 of the first big race in the UK for 2006.

For the men it was another predictable winner in Jamie Stevenson. Jamie went into the race clear favourite showing signs of good form already this season with the Danish cross-country champs title under hos belt. The winning margin was closer than predicted though with Graham Gristwood, fresh from a superb last leg spring cup relay run last weekend, taking 2nd spot just 36sec's back. ShUOC's inseperable duo of Matt Crane and Oli Johnson continued to their good form this year taking 3rd and 4th spot respectively.

A big thanks and congratulations must go to the organisers and especially the planner for a well run day of events despite having to make several late changes to the area.
