Ewan McCarthy celebrates GBR selection

The British team for the world cup finals in Germany has been announced. There are two senior international debuts for Ewan McCarthy and Nope Young Team member Mhairi Mckenzie

Derek Allison, BOF Director of Coaching said "We are sending our leading runners whom we believe can deliver high positions. In addition, as in 2000, we have taken the opportunity to give debut runs to two athletes at this level. I am sure that the team will perform well. By taking a smaller team to Germany we will be able to concentrate our resources in preparing for our home World Cups and Japan; where experience in the special terrain will be a significant factor in performance."

The world cup finals run from the 17th to the 24th of October comprising of Sprint Qualifications and finals, Middle Qualifications and finals, Long Distance and Relay events
