ukcc :: 3 major changes

Since its initial launch just over two weeks ago, The UK Cities Cup urban orienteering series for 2007 has had 3 major changes. Some are good some are not so good but here is news on all of them:

INOV8 announced as headline sponsor for 2007

We are proud to announce that shoe manufacturer Inov8 will be the headline sponsor for 2007. Inov8 have been making great shoes for almost any condition and this partnership is well timed with Inov8 launching a new urban adventure shoe, the f-lite 320 PK. Inov-8 are committed to orienteering and are currently working on an orienteering specific shoe, its great to have them on board and feel that both parties can only benefit from coming together for this.

JK & British Sprint Races out Lincoln & Warwick races in

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to include the JK & British Sprint Championships in the series for 2007. This is due to a direct clash in sponsors interests, for which neither the sponsors, event organisers, British Orienteering or ourselves are at fault, not allowing agreements to be fully honoured. The two races will be replaced by a street race in Lincoln on 2nd September and Warwick on the 6th October. Both these venues will provide superb races, which in fact better suit the type of race profile the series is looking for and enhance the series. Thanks must go to the organising clubs for allowing them to be included at such short notice. This means that race line-up for 2007 is now as follows:

RACE 1 - York Park Race, York - 28.05.07
RACE 2 - Glasgow - 08.07.07
RACE 3 - Scottish 6 Day Sprint Race, Kingussie - 08.08.07
RACE 4 -Lincoln - 02.09.07
RACE 5 - Warrick - 06.10.07

New series website launched

A new website has been put together to keep everybody informed about the series. It is hoped that it will provide all the information needed for everybody to keep track of the series developments and get involved if they wish. As well as hosting the overall series results and and linking to race details and results, you will also be kpt up to date with any and all goings on with the UK Cities Cup.
