Coming to Europe…The City Chase Series!

With sold-out events in Australia, Canada and the US, The City Chase is coming to London and Paris in September, 2006.

City Chase events are based in major cities around the world, with teams of two racing through the city streets, buildings and parks, trying to locate and complete a variety of urban-based challenges. Starting with a clue sheet offering cryptic descriptions of challenges and locations, teams must plan their own route through the city, in search of the various “Chase Point” locations. Teams receive a stamp for each “Chase Point” they complete, and the first team to cross the Finish Line with ten stamps is the winner.

Some London Chase Points will make you:
• Discover and rediscover unknown or less known places in the City
• See and visit places with a very different approach
• Experience the ways of London in a way you would have not experience on your own
• Will push your comfort zone at your own rhythm

To succeed in The City Chase, teams must be open-minded and resourceful - knowing when to use their mobile phone to seek help from family and friends; knowing how to read a map as they plan their strategy; knowing when to catch a bus or a subway to rest their muscles; and knowing how to use their charm to entice support from other teams and even strangers!

Each City Chase event typically begins at 10:00 AM, and lasts 4 – 6 hours, with the winning team finishing around the 3-hour mark. During the day, “Chasers” will push their physical and intellectual limits, laughing at themselves and others in the process. The spirit of City Chase is all about Laughter, Adventure and Discovery, with most teams focused on “the journey not the destination”. However, the winning team from each event will be invited to The 2006 City Chase World Championship, to represent their country in international competition!

Orienteers are already going to be represented at the City Chase World Championships with Ben Rattray, Australian international and former Clyde member, having won the Australian leg of the competition with teammate Andrew Hill.

Why not try and join them, register now for the London event which takes place on the 16th September, find out more on the City Chase Website.

Alternatively, we at Nopesport will be kicking off a competition early next week to win an entry (or maybe even two!) to the event, so check back and get involved!
