We are pleased to announce that bookings are now accepted for [nope] training week and will be until the middle of July. As well as this, entries are now available online for the Purple Thistle 2006.

Offering a week of top class orienteering technique training in some of the best terrain available on the Moray Coast and Speyside, the [nope] training week will set you up perfectly for either Speyside 2007 or the British Champs in 2008. As well as a variety of training sessions focusing on different techniques, you will also be able to see if you can put it all together and take on the World Orienteering Championship final courses from 1999 at both Middle and Classic distances. Can you beat Yvette's legendary WOC Middle Distance winning time at Dallaschyle or come anywhere close to the 97 minute time of Bjørnar Valstad on the 15km classic distance course at Glen Affric?

The Purple Thistle complements the training week perfectly, following on from it in the fantastic area of Glen Affric. Once again the Purple Thistle will offer both a technical and physical challenge at a range of distances to suit all ages. For those complaining about the lack of 'classic' classic distance races in this country, come and take on the 13km Mighty Thistle course on Day 1! For those looking for a slightly less strenuous course distances of 3-9km are also available. Also remember that the WOC Classic Final courses will be available to run on the Friday & Monday either side of the weekends competition.

Away from the orienteering we'll be hosting a selection of entertainments across the weekend, an interesting style of sprint race on the saturday evening is planned as well as the prize giving and party. Accomodation is available with other PT competitors in a fantastic youth hostel which will allow for a great event atmosphere.
