Shamrock O Ringen 2005

Just when you thought it would not happen Cork O
invite you to take part in the Shamrock O Ringen which
returns this year. The event takes place from Saturday
to Monday (June bank holiday) allowing you time to
visit the area. As usual day 1 will be a shorter event
and day 3 will be a chasing start. In keeping with the
island theme this year, Day 2 and 3 will take place on
Bere Island on a re-surveyed map by Alan Barry.

Day 1: Rathgaskig, Ballingeary, Macroom Co. Cork
Sat June 4th. Start times 12-2pm
Terrain: Forest and open hillside
Map scale: 1:5,000

Day 2: Bere Island, Castletownbere, Co Cork
Sun June 5th Start times: 10am – 1pm
Terrain: Open hillside
Map scale: 1:10,000

Day 3: Bere Island, Castletownbere, Co Cork
Mon June 6th. Start times 9.30-10.30am
Terrain: Open hillside
Map scale: 1:10,000

All areas have significant contour detail. The Island
is bounded by dangerous cliffs. You are responsible
for your own safety. Whistles will be compulsory while
cagoule requirements will be made on the day.

All classes are offered (E,L,S,A,B) but will be
subject to amalgamation depending on entry level. If
in doubt please indicate alternative choice.

The Sport-Ident electronic punching system will be
used

Adults (M/W21+) €35
Students €30
Juniors €15
Family €90
Cheques payable to Cork Orienteering Club. Sterling
cheques will be accepted as guarantee to be exchanged
