UDOC Charity Relay

The University of Durham Orienteering Club are organising a charity relay event on Sunday 14 June in Houghall Woods, Durham.  The relay is in aid of Volunteers for Educational Support and Learning (www.vesl.org).  It will be a fun, novelty relay and full details can be found on the UDOC website at www.udoc.org.uk.  Online entry is now available at www.fabian4.co.uk.

Four people are needed for a team, but you don't all need to be from the same club or in the same BOF age class.  You may also enter as an individual, or group of two or three, and we will find you some team mates!  There will be a handicap system to even out the competition.

As well as a great days orienteering, we also have some other entertainment lined up for you.  There will be a BBQ for your lunch and a cake stall selling some delicious homemade goodies.  If that wasn't enough then there will also be a raffle, with prizes including a year's subscription to Compass Sport, a signed photo of Ron Hill from the 1970 Commonwealth Games Marathon, some embroidered running towels, Hilly Socks and much more!  The Durham University Circus Society will also be present and will be performing throughout the day.

There will be momentoes for the top 3 teams, and the winning team will get free entries to the Durham City Race (to be held next year, pending permission).

After your run, why not head into the beautiful city of Durham?  It's just a 15 minute walk away, and you can take a look at the awesome terrain for the city race, climb to the top of the cathedral, or relax at a café by the river.
